“If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner!”

I have mentioned this uncomfortable truth before. There will be consequences for sin even when they are committed by Christ followers. We do not escape them just because of grace. Grace is an unfathomable gift to believers, available to everyone. However, we cannot wipe our filthy feet on God’s grace by willfully committing sin with the assumption that His forgiveness makes it ‘no big deal’.Solomon wants us to know that the consequences for all sin while on earth is imminent and will be painful. He tells us here that the penalty for believers can be somewhat blunted compared to the lost. The other significant difference occurs after death when there is no consequences for sin of any degree for believers, that penalty was covered in the cross. For the non-believer the penalty after their death is eternal suffering and sadness. To summarize: believers and lost both pay a price on earth for their sin. After the resurrection believers go to heaven with no pain, sadness or suffering. The lost will never find peace or joy again. This should break our hearts. Today make wise choices. #BeTheEdge
