“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.”

My granddaughter and her friend went for a walk the other day on a trail she knew well. When they were almost back to the group, they decided to reverse course and return the way they came. As they were gone considerably longer than expected, a parent noticed their extended absence, and a slow panic began to set in. Within moments, half a dozen adults were moving in different directions on a full-out search and rescue. The search was intense and involved some moist eyes and low-level panic. They were quickly located. The girls, on the other hand, were simply enjoying their stroll. When was the last time you searched out God’s truth with a sense of urgency? Like the girls, we will find what was never lost and was readily available. Searching with a sense of expectancy is perhaps more exciting and fun. However, in the normal course of life, we often need divine insight to lead us on. We may not realize the urgent need for God’s revelation at any given moment, but we were designed to always be searching His Word, discovering what we didn’t even realize we were looking for. That is maturity. Today, explore God and His Word. #BeTheEdge
