“I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.”

One of the great truths about Jesus is that He knew where He was going every moment of His time on Earth. The first Christmas was just that—the first, the beginning. Not just for us, but for Jesus and His plan for all eternity. In fairness, Jesus, as the second person of the eternal Trinity, always knew who He was, why He was born, what lay before Him, and the eternity He opened up for all who would come to put their faith and trust in Him. He was never distracted by the will or plans of man. He did not allow convenience or challenges to thwart His calling and purpose. His birth is full of meaning. Everything—from the timing (“in the fullness of time”) to the manner of His death, resurrection, and ascension—had meaning and clear purpose. God directed His steps. And He wants to do the same for us. Call it His divine sovereignty, since that’s what it is, but God knows and directs, and when necessary, redeems every moment of His followers’ lives. I find that extremely comforting and lovingly kind. His wisdom gives us clarity on His path for our journey, and where we don’t know what step is next, He reveals it at the precise moment it’s needed. He is our guide, and therefore, we have nothing to fear. Today, let Him lead. #BeTheEdge
