“Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.”

I recently saw an AI viewpoint on what this phrase means. Although it was interesting and even made some valid observations it was not close to the true meaning, it could not have been further away. It talked about making decisions that are consistent with who you are and what is important to you. In a very secular and worldly sense, that is true, but in a spiritual sense, what is important to us is a distant second at best to what is important to God. Certainly, those two can—and in a follower of Christ, should—align. But when we give careful thought to what we should do, it needs to always be founded singularly on God’s truth and His call on our lives. As we are careful to walk God’s path, we will be steadfast. That steadfastness is evident when the world’s forces come against us, and yet we remain standing. As overworked as it is, the old saying about footprints in the sand is relevant here: When the footprints of us walking with Jesus become just one set of footprints, it truly is Jesus carrying us through hard times. Today give careful thought to the path you take, and be sure it is His. #BeTheEdge
