“My son, pay attention to my wisdom, turn your ear to my words of insight,”
In this chapter, Solomon compares listening to his voice of wisdom with listening to a more enticing yet destructive voice of influence. We all face that choice daily. The good news is that although the different voices never go away, the more we listen to God’s voice, the less attractive and appealing—and the quieter—the other voices become. As we train our ears and hearts to hear the voice of God, it becomes easier to recognize those filled with lies, deception, and destruction. Jesus said that His people recognize His voice. When we are new in our relationship with Him, we receive grace in many areas for protection. The longer we walk with Him, the more we are expected to grow and walk in faith and knowledge, requiring less protection in certain areas. Initially, He protects us from our immature faith and understanding, but as we grow, we learn to discern. We have to develop a discerning spirit to filter the evil yet enticing voices from God’s. We truly turn to Him and away from the world’s influences. Today, listen to the One who loves you. #BeTheEdge
