“Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.”
The ultimate truth that will last forever is God’s word. We are reminded of this fact in various places in Scripture. Solomon is most likely drawing from that truth and going further in declaring that all spoken truth also has no expiration date. 1 Peter 1:23-25 provides a clear view that not only will God’s word last forever, but so will our souls. Whether in heaven or hell, a person’s existence is eternal. Eternal life or eternal death is the destiny of every human being. I had a conversation with one of The Edge ministry leaders yesterday, and we discussed the desire of Satan to convince mankind that not only does he not exist, but neither does hell. If he can convince a person that either everyone goes to heaven or they cease to exist, he wins. He is the ultimate liar. Thankfully, for those of us who have our eternal relationship established with Jesus, the evil one’s lies will cease to exist when we enter heaven. The tragedy is that for those who die in their separation from God, it will never end. Speaking and living God’s truth is our privilege and responsibility. Jesus went so far as to call Himself the Truth. Today, live the truth. #BeTheEdge
