“Do not envy the wicked, do not desire their company;”

Why would anybody envy the wicked, other than perhaps if they are truly wicked themselves? That seems like a logical question. However, it is not so much the wickedness in a person that is envied, but rather the possessions or power that they acquire. It is easy to envy another’s things, but it is also wrong. As a result of seeing the temporary rewards from mistreating others, we should be as disgusted by their presence as God is. Too often, people seek the company of others not because of the quality of their character, but rather due to their external appearance. God knows the heart. We don’t always have that luxury, but as we walk in God’s spirit, we recognize those who operate by the flesh and those who operate by the spirit. We should choose those we surround ourselves with based on their hearts’ alignment with God and His truth. Their biblical worldview impacts all areas of their story, making them and their company desirable. It is often easy to discern between the godly and the worldly, but when it’s not, He will clarify it for us in our spirit. Today, walk with the godly. #BeTheEdge
