“Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me,”
Have you ever made a decision, moved forward with it, and suddenly wished you had done something differently? There is a sense of that in this verse. Solomon wants us to know that God offers all the wisdom, understanding, and direction we need. When we ignore it or don’t follow it, we often end up in the wrong place. We try to correct it by crying out, but we discover that the opportunity has long since passed. The element missing in this verse is what we now have through the presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit and the new redemption offered since the resurrection of Christ—the opportunity to have our ignorant decisions redeemed by the restorative power of God. That’s some pretty amazing news. For sure, there are consequences for ignoring the leading of God’s wisdom. Our goal needs to be to see His leading and follow that path. There is a mysterious truth about ignoring God’s voice one too many times and suffering irreparable brokenness. Today, hear His voice and listen. #BeTheEdge
