“Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars.”
I have often wondered about the meaning behind the seven pillars. What if they had said six or eight instead? God doesn’t waste words or descriptions. We know seven is an important number in God’s Kingdom. “Some commentators interpret the pillars to represent the seven days of creation, the sun, moon, and five planets, or the house’s spaciousness.” All I know is that they are a critical part of Wisdom’s home. This causes me to stop and reflect on the vital parts of my own life. What are my seven pillars? What is my spiritual house constructed of? The leaders at The Edge in the construction arena would certainly frame this better than I can, but I would include God’s word, salvation, my spiritual gifts, and many other things as vital to holding things together. The full armor described by Paul would also be a solid list. Whatever is on your list, it is important to have your life spiritually built on God and the things of His Kingdom. Today, take time to review what these pillars are in your life. #BeTheEdge
