Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.” ‬‬

As with almost everything in life, the best example of what this truth looks like when lived out is Jesus Himself. He certainly humbled Himself. I have often read the Gospels and found my righteous anger rising as I see how unfairly He was treated. If it were within my power, I would have called down hosts of angels to wipe out those who cried for His crucifixion and all the others who mistreated and maligned Him. I would also have completely ruined the salvation story—probably one of the reasons I’m never confused with the Savior. As we live a genuinely humble life, we gain the wisdom available to those with a learner’s heart. We walk into situations knowing that our knowledge is incomplete and we look and listen for wisdom to be spoken into our story. When the proud enter the same circumstances, they walk away with no new insight or truth. It is a position and condition of our heart. Jesus, who we know was the second person of the Trinity, God Himself, modeled the humble spirit of one looking to the Heavenly Father. As we walk with a proper respect for God, it is easy to listen and learn. Today live humbly. #BeTheEdge
