“There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.”

This is one of my favorite verses in Proverbs. It essentially eliminates the possibility of anything thwarting God’s work in and through our lives. It definitely emphasizes His sovereign design for the world. I knew a preacher who used to joke, sadly, that one reason for Jesus’ delay in returning was that He had to tear down a number of the mansions He built because fewer people were going to make it to heaven than He originally planned. That’s neither funny nor accurate. He has known since the foundation of the world exactly who would receive His free gift of eternal life, and nothing will interfere with that. His plans were established before Adam drew his first breath. That’s sovereignty. We freely move into His foreknowledge. This verse speaks even more directly to the reality that God is not only all-knowing but also all-powerful. Nothing and no one can outwit the all-knowing and all-powerful eternal God of the universe. Satan tried, and at times, so do we. He failed and thankfully so do we. He is in complete control of His universe. Today find peace in that. #BeTheEdge
