“Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,”

How do you know if someone is being truthful without a lie detector? Realistically, how many times can you pull one out in a business meeting or during a preacher’s sermon? It would certainly be helpful and could save a lot of grief. Solomon gives us a better plan. Knowing God’s truth by heart and having the presence of His Holy Spirit in our lives gives us something even better than a machine: the filter of eternal truth. When we walk in intimacy with our Creator, not only is He available to filter truth from fiction, but He also greatly desires to. He wants us to make wise decisions as we walk into His good works as representatives of Him and His kingdom. To do that requires a supernatural guide. Both His Spirit and His Word are that guide. One reason sin is so destructive is that it short-circuits that process in our journey. When we walk in sin, God tells us He will not hear our prayers. That leaves us completely vulnerable to the crafty and smooth talkers of this world. When we confess and repent, that power is restored, and we are protected from the ways of the wicked and perverse. Today, walk in intimate relationship with your King. #BeTheEdge
