Monthly Challenge for January 2025:

In December I shared that in one of Billy Graham’s final messages he said that the next Great Spiritual Awakening will happen in the workplace. Knowing that is very possibly true, how will that shape how our workplace/relationships needs to be different? I am not one for setting New Year’s resolutions, but I do know it is vitally important for me to make changes or do a reset so that I do not get stuck and find myself spinning my wheels. I have listed below all The Edge Monthly Challenges from 2024. Pick one and take the challenge of refreshing your spiritual walk so that you do not become complacent. Read a Proverb a day, write out your own mission statement, start a small group, etc.

The Edge Mini Campaign “Build the Foundation.” Understanding the importance of a company having consistent and sustainable income. We have set a goal of 50 monthly donors. We had 14 monthly donors in October, now we have 30. We need 20 more. Would you prayerfully consider helping us meet that goal? If your giving pattern is fewer times a year, we will always be grateful and will do our best to be Godly stewards of your gift. To make monthly donations you can go to our website TheEdgeFW.com and donate with a credit card. To save fees go to your bank’s online banking and set up a reoccurring payment to The Edge, 1436 Crosley Dr. Fort Wayne IN 46814. If we meet our goal, it will make an enormous difference. Thanks for considering!

March 20th, 2025 - The Edge Challenge Breakfast at the Mirro Center on Parkview’s Campus. Last year we were Challenged by Jeff Struecker from Black Hawk Down. This year Mark Whitacre will be sharing. Mark is the highest-level executive to ever turn whistleblower in U.S. history. His undercover work with the FBI during the ADM scandal was the inspiration for the motion picture, “The Informant,” starring Matt Damon as Mark Whitacre and was the inspiration for the Discovery Channel Documentary, titled “Undercover.” Drawing from his unique history, Mark provides one-of-a-kind insight into corporate ethics, corporate greed, and the warning signs of flawed corporate leadership. The story about Mark’s redemption and second chance is one of the most inspirational stories of our time. It is most helpful if you can host a table. Go to theedgefw.com to sign-up.

August 21st, 2025 - The Edge Challenge Golf Outing at Coyote Creek. Go to our website and sign up. TheEdgeFW.com.

The Edge Monthly Challenges 2024

The Edge DailyChallenge: I would love to challenge and encourage to read a proverb a day, every day for 2025. We are currently close to 400 that started in 2024. I figure we can all use more wisdom, right? There are 31 chapters in Proverbs 7 months have 31 days and the other months just double up on the last day. After reading the Proverb of the day, download “TheEdgeDaily” Challenge app and read the devotion for the day. It is short but impactful! I know the better we are as individuals the more we can influence and better our corporate cultures. Ask your family, friends, and fellow employees to take The Edge Daily Challenge also. If you take this Challenge, please let me know. Also let me know how many of your family, friends, or coworkers are in.

The Edge Monthly Challenge: Every month I will send The Edge Monthly Challenge with an idea(s) that I have come across from meeting with many of you that will speak to our hearts and make everyday a day the Lord will be proud of by pushing us in taking on new Challenges that help us be better and influence others. “As Iron Sharpens Iron.”

The Edge Annual Challenge: Put it on your calendar. The Edge Challenge Breakfast March 20th, 2025. The Edge Challenge Golf outing is August 21st, 2025, at Coyote Creek.

Monthly Challenges to date: If you have not taken on a challenge why not try? You might be surprised and be blessed!

The Edge Monthly Challenge for January: The Edge Daily reading of Proverbs.

The Edge Monthly Challenge for February: Your own Life Mission Statement. The Lord has put a new life mission statement on my heart, and it has changed my life by changing my mindset. There is nothing more important than who I am in the Lord and those I influence for the Kingdom. I prayerfully challenge you to develop one of your own. Put it in places so that you will see it every day. Say it to yourself several times a day. It will make a difference. Let us meet and talk about it.

The Edge Monthly Challenge for March: Pray for everyone you are meeting with each day for 3-5 minutes in depth first thing in the morning . It will change your appointment. Going through a job change I did some self-checking, and the Lord brought me to my knees, and I felt encouraged to start praying for each appointment that day in the morning before I left my home. The appointment changed because it feels like I have already been with that person in my heart before I see them.

The Edge Monthly Challenge for April: Only listen to Christian music. Since September 1, 2023. I have only listened to Christian music in my car and through my ear buds. My desire has been to experience a deep spiritual change in my mindset.

The Edge Monthly Challenge for May: Take a Spiritual Renewal Day once a quarter. Go to a park and take nothing but your bible and take the day asking the Lord to speak to you and you speak with Him. You will be Spiritually renewed!

The Edge Monthly Challenge for June: Do you remember when you were at a spiritual high point in your journey with Him? Recreate that if possible or consider ways to jumps start your spiritual walk.

The Edge Monthly Challenge for July: Take an assessment of your own life asking am I living a balanced life? To live a balanced life means that I am growing relationally/socially, mentally/emotionally, physically, and spiritually. If you are not, do something about it.

The Edge Monthly Challenge for August: Take a personal assessment of your own life. For most of us there is a need for us to be in a loving community. We often see this in a small group setting (Iron Sharpening Iron Small Groups). If you are not in a small group start one, join one, or maybe the best thing would be to start an Iron Sharpening Iron small group with work contacts. Let me help!

The Edge Monthly Challenge for September. One of the most impactful things a mentor ever encouraged me to do was to find an Accountability Partner. The detail were to find someone of the same sex that is not family, and you respect. If possible, try to meet weekly. With time and trust you will both learn the importance of being honest and vulnerable. Your life will be changed for the better if you are genuine and authentic. Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

The Edge Monthly Challenge for October. I want to be known as a Christ follower the encourage others. I hope that is something we all see as adding value to other relationships. I am deeply moved when people encourage me in a way that is authentic and more than superficial. I have a mentor that challenged me to start every Monday morning by writing a note of encouragement and sending it to someone you feel led to lift. Let us take on that challenge and see what the Lord does. It could go a long ways in impacting someone’s life.

The Edge Monthly Challenge for November. I enjoyed a conversation with a friend this week about how we decide what is best for us to build our life’s foundation on. We shared that faith in God and living with purpose is so important. Then he surprised me something that has always helped him do what is right and shared the Scout Law that goes back 50+ years for him. Scout Law! A Scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. He had memorized the Scout Law and shared those like he says them every day. I was so impacted that I went home and studied them. I am challenged to take on that Law and live out my faith as I work them out in my life. How about you?

The Edge Monthly Challenge for December:

In one of Billy Graham’s final messages he said that the next Great Spiritual Awakening will happen in the workplace. What does that mean to you and me? As Christ Followers we should always be looking for opportunities to have faith conversations with other especially those in our workplace. The Edge Challenge for December is to pray for an opportunity to share our faith. Next is to be prepared to ease into a loving conversation about our reason for the season! Take the Challenge! Who is the Lord nudging you about to start that conversation?
